Artist’s Statement
I like to find the edge of reality, where the subject is real but not real. Water lends itself to this view. I especially seek out the points where water and the built environment merge into abstractions. The girls at the pool, however, are operating on a very concrete plane, with the younger foreground subject seeking the reality embodied by the preteens in the background.
Biography
Lisa Eveleigh is a photographer and writer living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She is the recipient of a Mississippi Arts Commission Artist Fellowship, and her work has appeared in juried group shows and has been purchased by private collectors.
